Safety & Security
Safety concerns are a high priority in municipal water treatment facilities. Pumping stations, wet wells, chemical storage areas all require ambient gas monitoring for personnel protection as a confined space.
Portable gas detectors for confined space monitoring include “man-down” alarms when no motion is detected. Pressure switches, temperature switches, and pressure gauges with alarm outputs provide indication of a dangerous situation.
At remote or difficult-to-reach sites, critical instruments can be protected from damage by installing lightning and surge protection devices to eliminate downtime. As internet security concerns rise, greater attention is being given to vulnerabilities of plant control systems.
Protection of these systems from both within the organization and outside attacks unfortunately is becoming necessary.
